The second edition of Vogue Open Casting resulted in tens of thousands of applications from aspiring models based all around the world—from Chicago to Berlin, Lusaka to Helsinki, and Mumbai to Buenos Aires. Now, as we inch closer to choosing our finalist, Vogue is inviting readers to vote for their favorite of the eight Open Casting semi-finalists on the Vogue app. These young women, aged 19 to 25, were selected by the 2025 Vogue Open Casting Selection Committee and reflect the global nature of the fashion and modeling industries. Their nationalities range from Mongolian, Chinese, and South Sudanese to Filipino, Senegalese, American, and Swiss, and they hail from Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, New York, Ontario, Bergamo, Neuchâtel, and Paris. Their tastes and activities outside of modeling, moreover, are as varied as their backgrounds; this year’s semi-finalists include a new mother who loves to surf and hike, a college senior studying criminal justice, an antique and vintage collector, and an avid baker. The Vogue Open Casting 2025 finalist will appear on a digital cover of Vogue France. She will be chosen by the Selection Committee, which this year features Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer, Condé Nast, and Global Editorial Director, Vogue; Simon Porte Jacquemus, designer and founder of Jacquemus; Virginia Smith, Global Head of Fashion Network, Condé Nast; Claire Thomson-Jonville, head of editorial content, Vogue France; Ignacio Murillo, Global Talent Casting Director; Osana Ekue, Director, Women Paris; and José Criales-Unzueta, Fashion News Editor, Vogue Runway.Officials Josh Turek For Iowa Square Logo Shirt
Scroll through to meet the semi-finalists, and tap here to vote for your favorite exclusively on the Vogue app. Suki Waterhouse knows boho hair. The model and actress has a signature style that just works, defined by a breezy texture and curtain bangs that countless women have attempted to emulate. So, exactly how does she ensure her hair always looks so effortlessly tousled and… well, cool? My whole hair life has always revolved around bangs, a lot of teasing, and that ’60s hairdo. From the very first moment that I started going out and doing my hair, that [style] appealed to me so much. I’ve sometimes left it behind, and I’ve definitely had better fringe haircuts in different periods (and some very disastrous ones)—but I think that the shaggy fringe haircut has probably been my hero haircut, and it’s the one I’ve got at the moment! I was always looking at Sam Haskins’s images, as well as Bardot haircuts. Plus Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg, and Pattie Boyd—the kind of hair that they had, that’s my aspirational hair. I would love to be running around all the time with a perfect ’60s coiffed hairstyle. I can also be quite chaotic, and days when I am almost allergic to a hairbrush (because I can’t find one) have played a part in my effortless, shaggy look.
